The typical Brazilian dishes are feijoada (baked black beans with dried meat, sausages, garlic etc.), rice with beans, meals made of dried fish, churrasco (bits of beef beaded on a metal rod and baked in the open air on coals; served with a sauce made of with tomatoes, onions, pepper, vinegar, olive oil and salt), takaka (thick yellow soup with dried shrimps and garlic), watapa (a dish made of shellfish), sarapateu (pork liver or heart with fresh blood, tomatoes, pepper and onion), caruru (salty shrimps with hot sauce made of red pepper and Brazilian plant called kiabu. Among the most popular drinks are Kashasa – vodka made from spirit of the sugar cane, Guarana – refreshment drink made from fruits of guarana.
